Templars was built after watching too many homeowners and business owners get burned by the low-bid trap. A company wins the job with the lowest number, cuts corners on materials or time, and leaves the customer to deal with the same problem six months later, or worse.
We decided to do it differently. David Ontiveros founded Templars with a straightforward idea: build a company where ownership is invested in every job, where technicians are trained to diagnose correctly before touching anything, and where the goal is solving the actual problem, not padding the ticket.

When David founded Templars, he made one decision that shapes everything else: ownership stays involved. That’s unusual in the trades, where most companies grow by distancing management from the actual work. We do the opposite.
David comes from a background in both plumbing and HVAC, with experience in commercial build-outs, service and repair, and new construction. His goal was always to build a company that could serve as a genuine long-term partner for homeowners and businesses, not a high-volume, low-engagement operation.
That means hiring technicians who take the diagnostic step seriously, investing in proper tools instead of guessing, and being honest with customers even when the answer is more expensive or complicated than they hoped.
